Incredibly gifted actor, singer, writer, Antonique Smith first garnered attention in her buzz worthy leading role in "RENT" on Broadway as Mimi Marquez, where director Michael Greif is quoted as saying Antonique “made the whole show better”.
Antonique is now most famous for her starring role of Faith Evans in “Notorious”, where she received rave reviews and was praised by critics, including Jeffery Lyons who called her "one to watch".
Antonique just finished post production on an edgy independent film that is among the most anticipated films of 2010, entitled "Yelling To The Sky", playing the starring role of Ola O'Hara.
She also just completed filming the role of Agent Sandra Burns in the star studded action movie "Abduction", opposite Taylor Lautner and Alfred Molina, due in theaters in the spring of 2011.
Antonique has also guest starred on television shows such as “Law & Order”, and HBO's "Bored To Death",

Antonique Charmaine Smith was born on August 11th in New Jersey. The kind-hearted, charming and multi-talented Antonique has spent her life in the city of East Orange. From the very young age of three-years-old, Antonique always knew that her calling was "to be a star" - but how she would make that happen wasn't obvious until many years later in life. Antonique performed in various plays and musicals at school and at church, which is where she began to unknowingly hone her skills in singing and acting. Antonique is incredibly close to her family and she is the older sister to a special needs child who Antonique calls her "favorite person in the world". Anyone who's met Antonique can attest that her strong sense of family values, friendship, loyalty, and gratitude for life are evident in every smile she flashes and hug she shares; traits that have impacted her growing fan base in a number of memorable ways.
Antonique began singing at her local church in Newark where she was a member of the choir since the age of 7. Despite her voice being a truly natural gift from God, any evidence of the awe-inspiring talent we hear today wasn't even present until her early teens. Growing up, she was influenced by such singers as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and Celine Dion and was also exposed to many different styles of music. Antonique enjoys everything from classical to rock and all the styles in between. Her diverse taste is evident in her music. Antonique can honestly credit the power & beauty of her voice as being a divine blessing that was merely strengthened by singing along to the music of the world's greatest divas on the radio.
Antonique's acting career unknowingly began as a very little girl in her grandparents living room. An only child for many years, Antonique got practice in entertainment by first entertaining herself; creating characters, voices and puppet shows. It wasn't until many years later that she was able to professionally put those skills to use. Antonique feels so blessed to be doing what she has always dreamed of doing and is grateful for the unwavering support of her family, friends and fans.
